Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is one of the most common conditions affecting older cats, and in most cases is progressive over time causing a gradual decline in health. Dogs can also be affected.
Although CKD is not a curable or reversible disease, appropriate support and treatment can both increase the quality and duration of life by slowing down progression of the disease. Our nurses will check your pet’s blood pressure and weight as well as blood and urine parameters.
Our clinics ensure we can support you and your pet with this diagnosis, helping you to understand the disease and helping us to keep a close eye on your pet; meaning we can monitor the progression and act accordingly by changing the management plan.
As part of our effort to promote this service we are offering a discount on our ‘half day cat clinic’ which involves checking blood pressure, retinal examination (changes associated with blood pressure seen in the eye), urine and blood tests. We can ensure your cat is relaxed and settled in so that their blood pressure is not affected by stress.
